My Epiphany
It hit me in an instant. I had it. Finally, the inspiration for the story that I wanted to share and for everyone to know was there.
5 Years earlier I was just a normal middle-aged man. I wanted to be healthy and fit so I ate what I considered to be a balanced diet. And then it happened, my 14-year-old daughter, Lea, announced that she was going vegan!
I was horrified! I tried to talk her out of it. “But where will you get your protein? Why? We humans are meant to eat meat! What will you eat?
It’s laughable now, but at the time I was really concerned for her health. What could I do to change her mind from this crazy and extreme course of action?
First of all, I needed to gather the facts about being vegan. I was absolutely sure that if I could present her with all the scientific arguments, she would see sense and revert back to being “normal”.
So I started to dig a little deeper into the subject of nutrition and diet. Initially, I found lots and lots of resources and information that all seemed to back up my worldview. But my daughter was not going to give in that easily! I love her for that ??
She told me that she would consider my evidence if I would consider hers. I agreed. I couldn’t lose, right? I mean, everyone knows that vegans are extreme, don’t get enough protein, have no social life, eat boring food and eventually just waste away! It was clear that my argument was the strongest.
Lea gave me links to two documentaries to watch on youtube.com. I watched them both, one after the other. I felt like an idiot and a little bit angry. This must be a mistake, it couldn’t be true, could it?
I kept on searching and the beliefs that I had held about food for so long started to crumble. My daughter was winning the argument but something else had started happening, too. I was starting to see things differently.
And then it happened! It was the first day of a family holiday and I was just settling down next to the pool when my daughter slapped down a book next to me and said “Here you are Dad; I’ve bought this for you. I know health is important to you, so you need to read this.
Within 5 days I had finished. And it was a big book! The undeniable and scientifically backed up facts and truths contained within conspired to change completely the way in which I saw the world and our society.
I had turned a corner. There was no going back. There are things that you can’t unlearn. So there it was, my daughter had been right all along. There was only one thing for it. I wanted to go vegan too.
That was five years ago and the things that I’ve learnt since then are as shocking as they are sad. But there is also a silver lining because it also holds the key to solving most of the world’s most pressing problems.
I’ve always loved audiobooks. I’ve listened to hundreds over the years. 10 months ago, I wanted to write and record my own to share the message, but in a different way. I knew that I didn’t want to just state facts. I wanted to bring this incredible news to life! I was determined to write an interesting and entertaining story and to inject my own special enthusiasm into it.
I’d been waiting for inspiration for months. But in February in Italy in a café with my wife it hit me in an instant!
I wrote an hour every morning after my morning routine. The story for my audiobook was finished in just over four weeks. I’ve spent the rest of the year recording, going over the copy and creating a cover. I’ve even created a German version.

About Me
I’ve been on a long journey. All my life I’ve been working to get to where I am now. I’m ready.
I’m from Sheffield in the north of England, but that was a long time ago. In 1994 I met Susanne my wife and moved to Germany.
Among many other things, I learnt German, had two children on top of the two I already had in Sheffield, built a house, sold a house, started several businesses sold another house and moved to Tenerife in 2012.
I now live in Tenerife, I speak three languages fluently, I play golf, dance Argentine tango, practice meditation and yoga and now write books.
I was born with more than my fair share of energy and enthusiasm and have started (and successfully completed) so many things in my life.
I’m ready to share my gift with you and motivate you to make the switch that will literally change your life.

I think a lot of us have the feeling that we are in a rush. I suffer from this, too. But it’s a feeling and I always try to remember to be patient. Like nature. “Nothing is rushed and everything is achieved”.
Harmony
A lot of people strive for success. But is the rare person who achieves success right across the board: health, wealth, relationships and well being. Staying balanced and being in harmony are essential to my life.
Freedom
At our core, I think we are all in the pursuit of freedom. We are drawn to the water and to youth. I live in Tenerife, which is a young island, and I also go for a swim every day to remind myself that at the end of the day, it’s all about freedom.
